Create A Portable Writing Center

Posted by Melissa Schmalenberger on June 25, 2012 in Family, life, Moms |

Right now if you wanted to write a nice note to someone would you be able to find everything you need in under a minute? People are shying away from the art of the handwritten note and sending impersonal text messages or emails. Believe me; I am as guilty as the next person. But remember how good you feel when you get a handwritten note in the mail? Wouldn’t it be great to make someone’s day and send them a handwritten note? So to help all of you to get in the habit of sending a handwritten note I would encourage you to create a portable writing center.

Steps:

1.Gather all of your note paper and cards all in one area. Many of my clients have note paper and cards scattered all over the house. Search in every nook and cranny and find them all.

2.Find a basket that will hold everything. Now that you know how much you have, now is when you look for the perfect sized basket.

3.Place nice writing instruments in the basket. Nothing frustrates me more than using a bad pen. In fact there is one brand that I use and buy and that is it. It makes life much simpler when I know what I like and keep only what I like.

4.Place the postage that you would need to send a card in the basket as well. To finish the process you need the postage. Don’t waste time by searching for stamps. Always keep a fresh stash in your basket.

Make someone’s day and send them a note telling them what you love and appreciate about them. I have seen the power that a simple thank you can do. I challenge you to send a handwritten note and see what kind of magic can happen!
