Gooseberry Park Players: Cinderella x4

Posted by Melissa Schmalenberger on July 19, 2011 in Family, life, Moms |

Can I tell you how blessed we are to be raising our children in this community?! The options open for our children are limitless. My youngest has gotten the acting bug for about a year and a half. Since that time he has been in 5 productions at FMCT and now 2 at Gooseberry Park Players. Before that he was in Trollwood’s Artspark program for elementary school students.

I saw Trollwoods performance of “The Music Man” last week and next week I am thrilled to see FMCT’s production of “Rent“. We also have the Straw Hat Players that have summer shows that involve our youth. But what our community needs to do at this point is to buy tickets to the productions in order to show that you as a community support the efforts of our youth and volunteers.

FAQ’s if you want to see Cinderella x4

What is it about: You know the story of Cinderella, but did you know that other cultures have the same story that was made popular by Disney? This adaptaion is 4 different Cinderella stories from 4 different cultures, modern day, China, Russia and Native American…..all set to pop music!

Where is it at: People think it is outside in a park, you couldn’t be more wrong. It is in the air conditioned comfort of the Concorida theater. Soft seats, cool air and no mosquitoes to carry you away!

What you will see: Lots and lots and lots of pop songs, from Katey Perry, Taylor Swift, Ke$ha and Alice Cooper…..yes, Alice Cooper…that one surprised me as well!

How to purchase tickets: Call the box office at 218-299-3314

Cost of tickets: $12 for adults and $6 for kids 13 and younger

When can you see the shows: July 19 though July 23 at 7:00pm and July 23 and 24 at 1:00 pm

Why go: Gooseberry is volunteer run and the youth do not have to pay anything to participate in it. The way that they support the paid staff is through corporate donations, a silent auction and ticket sales. Show the youth in our community that you support them and that you love a live theater experience.
