We all know that slogan “Just Do It” by Nike. Probably one of the best branded slogans in the past 20 years. If you ask anyone what Nike’s slogan is I bet the majority of people could tell you. Those three little words mean a lot to me but I just never realized how much. You see, I am a just do it type of girl. I don’t let fear hold me back. I don’t let the thought of failure keep me stuck. I just do it. Starting a professional organizing business after being an attorney? Crazy to some, but to me it made perfect sense! Working with a start-up direct sales business? Crazy to some, but it made perfect sense to me. Starting a blog and putting my life on display for people to judge and criticize? Crazy I know!
This past weekend I had a great talk with a close friend. I was told that what she admires most in me is that I just go for it. Really? I am so use to just going for it I don’t even think twice about it. To me, it is a way of life. Have I failed at things? You bet, and big time! Do you know what I failed at? I doubt it, because I don’t focus on it and I have moved forward. I have chosen to take the obstacles and have them make me stronger. If you have an obstacle, think about the good things it has brought into your life. Maybe you met a new friend? Maybe you gathered a new skill?
This is what I have found to be true. When you make the choice to just do it, the path will be shown to you if you have your eyes open as well as your heart. Life has put people in front of me who have supported me in this path. Books have fallen in my hands that support me in this journey. The people who are discouraging to me, I don’t have time for and they just are not in my life anymore. I surround myself with people who support me in my journey of just doing it!Â
How many people do you know that just do it? What is stopping you from just doing it?
